Hewden raises the stakes

National equipment hire firm, Hewden has completed the purchase of lifting and materials handling company Interlift as it seeks to further expand its rental capabilities. The strategic acquisition is part of Hewden’s customer centric approach to further products and services in key markets including; construction, industrial and events.

Interlift is a regional operator with depots in Middlesbrough, Hull and Glasgow. It provides a range of lifting products and accessories including; hoists, lifting straps, shackles, beam and plate clamps, height safety and man riding equipment. The range is complementary to Hewden’s existing products and strengthens its portfolio of specialist lifting equipment.

Interlift employs 34 skilled sales, operational and administrative staff. It will continue to operate independently while utilising Hewden’s nationwide depot network.

Hewden CEO, Adrian Murphy believes that the acquisition marks a significant step in Hewden’s recent transformation.

“Like any successful business we are continuously evolving. Our goal has always been to develop and acquire complimentary businesses that have the best people and the best products to support our customers in the markets they operate,” said Murphy.

“This acquisition acts as a testament to that and increases our capacity to offer industry leading specialist lifting products and services within our business.”
