Terex gets the blues

Sapphire GAP

Terex Coventry has created a bespoke sapphire blue site dumper to celebrate GAP Group’s 45th Anniversary.

The specialist model, which comes as part of Terex’s multi-million pound equipment supply contract with the UK hire company, has been designed to mark 45 successful years since GAP Group’s first depot was opened.

“We have an excellent, long-standing relationship with GAP and we were delighted to assist in the firm’s anniversary celebrations,” says Neal Nowick, General Manager of Terex Coventry. “By working in close partnership with the GAP Group team to design, develop and deliver the bespoke dumper, we not only helped them to celebrate an important company milestone, but also demonstrated our flexibility and unrivalled production capabilities to meet customer demands at short notice.”

The GAP Group order is the latest announcement in a long line of successes for the Terex Coventry facility. Earlier this year, Terex announced the creation of 50 new jobs at its factory in the West Midlands. The specialist manufacturing firm has also invested significantly into the development of new and innovative construction equipment, including backhoe loaders, site dumpers and heavy-duty rollers.

“I approached Terex for its support in celebrating our 45th Anniversary and they were keen to participate,” explains GAP’s Group Procurement Manager, Ken Stewart. “The equipment was taken from our production schedules and painted “off-line” without causing too much disruption, before being delivered in time for display at our annual conference.”
