JCB backhoes turn PRO - JCB is introducing the 3CX, 4CX and 5CX PRO backhoe loaders, with the adoption of Stage V compliant engines on all models. The 3CX PRO is a two-wheel steer machine, the 4CX PRO boasts all-wheel steer for increased all-terrain performance and the four-wheel steer 5CX PRO delivers the ultimate backhoe loader specification for bulk earthmoving. Cat improves waste line - Caterpillar has unveiled a new version of its proven 816 Landfill Compactor. The new 816 compactor features improved airflow technology to reduce cleaning and maintenance. A new radial air filter lasts four times longer than the previous filter, and operators are alerted to airflow blockages by an electronic air inlet restriction indicator. A screened air inlet deflects trash from entering the radiator area to help maintain proper airflow, while an auto-reversing fan with manual activation capability purges debris buildup. Sunbelt hails CESAR - Sunbelt Rentals UK has become the first plant hire company in the UK to adopt an Emissions Compliance Verification (ECV) upgrade programme across its fleet. Worcester sources Thwaites dumpers - Gloucestershire-based hirer Worcester Hire Centre has concluded a deal that will add 40 Thwaites dumpers to their fleet, expanding their dumper asset base by 30 machines to 120. The deal will see a mix of sizes from the hirers favourite 1-ton Hi-Tip through 3-ton, 6-ton Power Swivel and the industry leading 9-ton machine delivered to WHC branches, throughout Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire.
