Experiencing increased demand and with a new branch recently opened in Inverness, Scotland, Garriock Brothers Ltd. turned to a machine with proven reliability to add to its fleet: the Terex Trucks TA300 articulated hauler.
Garriock Brothers Ltd. is the biggest privately owned company in Shetland, UK. Based in Lerwick, the company operates six depots throughout the UK and owns a number of quarries in Shetland. Now expanding with a new branch recently opened in Inverness, Garriock Bros. has purchased an additional Terex Trucks TA300 articulated hauler to keep up with demand.
Garriock Brothers bought its first Terex Truck in 2010 – one of the first TA400 articulated dump trucks produced by the Terex Trucks factory. Director of Garriock Bros., Michael Broe, explained how the company’s Terex Trucks fleet started to grow.
“The TA400 is a great machine, trouble-free and reliable, so we were confident in our first purchase of a 28 tonne capacity TA300 articulated dump truck, back in 2012,” said Broe.
The TA300 is built for harsh and arduous conditions so performs well in the company’s stone quarry and in the wet, boggy terrain of the peat shifting jobsites. The articulated Terex Truck has now clocked 4,000 hours and is still going strong.
Hydro and wind farm projects in the Highlands of Scotland have prompted a high demand for heavy-hauling trucks, and Garriock Bros. looked no further than to purchase an additional Terex Truck TA300 for its fleet.
“The TA300 performs very well and is a great all-rounder – economical and reliable,” continued Broe. “The independent suspension in particular is an excellent feature which is a favourite with the truck drivers. We’re able to let it work away without any hassle which is perfect, and we received excellent back-up and support from local Terex Trucks dealer, TDL Equipment. We’re very satisfied with the purchase.”
