Global excavator giant Hitachi has used the ConExpo show to unveil the Dash-6 derivative of its EX1200 model so beloved of mining, quarrying and specialist demolition contractors around the world.
Available in both 114 tonne face shovel and 112 tonne backhoe configurations, the Hitachi EX1200-6 is powered by a Cummins QSK23C Tier 2 diesel engine and is offered with 3 to 6.7 cubic metre buckets in backhoe form, or 5.9-6.5 cubic metre buckets in face shovel mode.

- Delivers precise, easy operation with new Zaxis-3 style-operator station and monitoring system.
- Increases digging performance with new swing/boom priority selection mode and new backhoe boom and arm geometry.
- High reliability with upgraded undercarriage to handle increased bucket and lifting capacities.
- New style hydraulic hosing to boom for increased reliability of hydraulic hoses.
